After reading many journals and even having some comments exchanges as well as a brief discussion in #aposhack on the topic of Fractal Art Community - I stand firmly impartial. How so? You may ask ART is a very personal or I shall say subjective experience for every single person.
As one of the people involved in a 'controversial' conversation pointed out the beauty is in the eyes of beholder - Yes !!!
We all have our favorite styles shapes, formats - oh gosh even palettes of color. And it seems like lately the "pandora's box" has been open with discussions really heating up and causing a lot of people to leave DA and get soo discouraged that their fractal programs are being closed at home.
Everything what is happening makes me wonder of how unwelcome the whole situation feels.
The tension and the endless complaining about it It's making the Art suffer and cry. Instead of building inspiration we got to the point of making everyone uncomfortable and fearful of posting their creations due to "am I living up to somebody's critiques or expectations" - The question is should you ?  
Some of us take the whole ordeal way to seriously - first and foremost art should be a good experience, it should inspire and promote good feelings.
I get critiques from time to time as well - I welcome them all, I read, I think about the pointers from the person who spend the time writing it and it happens some of them are valid, it also happens some of them are very subjective. Comments about coloring schemes and format I disregard most of the time, as I feel they representing personal flavors - and I don't cater to commissions
A lot of times the fractals I post express my mood from that particular day or are simply a technique practice. Not every single image receives the same type of comments and it's not collected by the same people, which is amazing and I think it proves the versatility of tastes.
I have only one word of advice - if you receive a critique from someone Be polite, thank them for spending the time on it and if you like what they have said maybe it will improve your way of approaching things. If you feel offended by it politely reply 'Thank you for your comment, please don't send me any more of those I'm not open to your opinions' and that should be sufficient enough for any reasonably intelligent person to get the drift.
I have no opinion on Quality or Who my faved Masters are - its Subjective and selected by my personal taste of leisure. That's All Folks - Ready to Fractal (I didn't stop anyway )
