2011 BMFAC News UpdateBMFAC winners published in print magazine!
The 25 winners of the Benoit Mandelbrot Fractal Art Contest were contacted in mid February to supply large format files of their winning images and also a short bio explaining their interest in fractal art, software used and general information about their work if they chose to do so. We were also informed that the first exhibit would be held in Logroño, in Northern Spain. Javier Barrallo, a Professor of Mathematics at The University of the Basque Country, Spain and also one of the panelists for the BMFAC was our contact for this. The current exhibit will be in the Casa de la Ciencia (House of Science), in Logroño, the Capital city of RIOJA until June 10th. I'll post a few pictures Javier sent further down. Javier also says he will send more pictures soon.

Fantastic Fractalicious Fractals issue 14The first issue of this year! This time I want to present some of the coolest fractals from 2011, it was really difficult to pick out some faves of the year, you are too good!!! But first, a short resume of last year's happenings.
What happened last year?
Pretty lot! I've been married for 42 years, we have 1 daughter and a darling grandson.
We live in the Netherlands, near Rotterdam.
My hobbies are reading , gardening and my PC.
How did you discover deviantART ?
I have discovered DA by playing with Google like a lot's of deviant here

And fractals, what about fractals ? How did you discover them and start to create them ?
I started with Ultra Fractal about 5 years ago.
I was a bit on Google, and discovered fractals, and it fascinated me enormously, and I started looking for fractal websites.

Time to let it pass before my eyes and present you some deviations considering various aspects.

FRACTALS THAT ROCK!! pt2

The first news with Rocking Fractals went over very well - and I got many comments from non-fractal artists, saying they really enjoyed it.

And since fractal art is still in the 'underdog' category getting folks on dA more familiar with it, sounds grand to me.

I would love to get you familiar with few artists - some new, some not so new and a nice mixed-smoothie of fractal works flowing to the gallery on regular bases and that will mean "Fractals that ROCK" is here to stay and give you updates on newest finds and excellent compositions and visions - Enjoy !!
